I don't care what anyone says about the whole "Paul is dead" junk. Regardless, the" new" Paul McCartney is wayyy better than the original one...

This was originally going to be released on Abby Road but with discord going on between the fab four it was shelved. God bless Sir Paul for giving this song to Badfinger.

Wow this is amazing! As a conoisseur of pop trivia I never even knew it was a Paul McCartney song, yet I remember hearing Badfinger's version on Radio 1 in early 1970 at the tender age of 9 and loving it. I guess in those days I wouldn't have been able to spot a Beatles cover as I hadn't really heard much of their album stuff then!

I love the story where Badfinger wanted to do their own spin on it but Paul instructed them to record it faithfully to his demo cause it was simple, straightforward and catchy and would be their first big hit. Guess who was right? Badfinger got some nice advice from a guy who even then at 27 years old had written or co-written a dozen #1's, haha.

Its amazing how paul did EVERY instrument in this song

I can't believe they gave this song to Bad Finger! They did a great job though

That's cool, thank you. :)
Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to Sir James P. McCartney. He is capable of anything. The most talented non-classical musician ever to live.

The whole take was actually Paul who recorded it all in less than an hour, what a boss.
