Councilmember Paul Ford requested a change to the meeting minutes that were the official record of the prior meeting. In response, the Mayor gets mad, and pounds the gavel to recess, twice.

We just happened to attend this Council meeting, and it was displeasing how Mr. Cannon, Mr. Weaver, Mr. Smithey, Ms. Burton, and Mayor Green all denied that the meaning of what was placed into the official minutes was quite different than what Mr. Ford had actually said--their votes and their statements attest to such denial. While no one has any official party affiliation, it is likely that several of those Councilmembers are affiliated with the Pro-Dunc Political Action Committee, whose members remain inexplicably veiled.

Besides Mr. Ford, the other person on Council who is independent and unaffiliated and who clearly votes her conscience is Ms. Jameson, who spoke honestly in favor of the change to to the minutes to better reflect the words that Mr. Ford had spoken. She summed it up clearly as, "Whether you agree with him or not, what he said is what he said."

Whatever it means that the consolidated majority would not or could not make such a needed change, it is not very promising where elected representatives are concerned.
