The Beginnings of the Christmas Layout 2008

Now that the table is built in the basement, it is time to design my Christmas 2008 layout. I have already begun by constructing a large outer oval going the length and width of the table, 12'x8'. Now I have begun two two additional ovals that will run inside the larger oval to the length of the table. Once I purchase and lay the remaining track necessay for this, I will begin work on a train yard in the center of the front inner oval. The yard will house some of the engines and cars that I'm not running along with a train station and platform. In the center of the rear oval will be a town with houses, a church, a radio station, a fountain, etc. The large outer oval will feature a very long freight train. The inner ovals will feature passenger trains. While most of this will be a C&O layout, it will also feature Norfolk & Western.
