  • I made this soup and used the regular bar blender instead of the stick blender. I blended it in two batches and it came out great. I think AB just wanted to get the point across about watts, energy, and work. The milk and cream are not necessary but it does add a smoother and creamier texture to the soup. And it does feel like you need to eat something crunchy (leek rings, crackers, or crusty bread) with the soup.
