Good suggestions. Dirt bomb?

yes, some dry-ice bomb or firework burried in the dirt makes a dirt explosion like in saving private ryan or band of brothers (more realistic than the bombs with a lot of fire), search in youtube for home-made dirt bomb's.

Nice, will love to see it. Working on a similar project myself, and trying to work out the special fx and coordination.

Any tips?

don't use tripod, use in-hand camera (like documentary) and track the fx's well to give more realism to the fx footage. And use a lot of smoke, smoke and dirt bomb's are the keys. Rips sounds (bombs, rifles, etc..) from youtube videos, the game's ones are so artificial.

yes, i want to more people too, but we have only two guys for the whole film (one to the enemy and the revolver soldier and other to the main hero).

Some day we gonna made another war film with more guys ;D that's a promise.

Awesome effects, excellently shot.

Only thing that caught my eye was the lack of people on the battlefield. Would have been more believable with more extras.
