great show, but we made a lot more x's on the field. also in the 4th movement, did you guys skip a few bars?
-
We're doing that this year. sounds awesome by the way!

@zagy0 going 180 is hard. my band is performing X! as our show this year and i have to say that after watching this, going 180 is part of what makes X! so epic. that was the only major flaw here. other than the tempo, i was very impressed by this. great work :D

where's the snare part at 1:15?! IT'S AMAZING!

does the track say robstown cottonpickers??
lol

this was their best performance that i've ever seen.

Well, our director felt the music would of needed a bigger band, and guard to make the beginning of the last movement effective. AND there was also the 8 minute time limit. So, I guess we cut out the part that wasn't necessary. :)

oh well that makes sense, accelerating that whole time does really create tension between battery/winds, or at least it did for us this season. but yeah the drill does seem pretty hectic. our show seemed to have... alot more x's. basically every 5 sets or so there was an X, except for in xhaustion. and what happened to the beginning of the last 3 movements?... hm.

I know! We could of been awesome every freaking year....oh well, we'll see how they do this year. The only thing I regret is not having a good drill, and good visuals. The drill was the hardest drill I think we'd had, but it doesn't look impressive. And we could of done much more with the ballad. Oh well. With the sound we had I wish C'ster would of picked something different. The Planets, Shostakovich...something that could of really showed off our sound. And had Dempsey write our drill again..

Our director thought the beginning of the last segment was too slow, and needed a bigger band, and guard to pull it off. We also needed this show to be under 8 minutes, so cutting those parts out only made sense. Thanks for the complement! I think the other recording of us is better, not as loud, but a better quality and less mistakes.
uhm, in movement 2, "x-celeration" there was about no acceleration at all! it was all the same tempo and even seemed to get slower when it was supposed to speed up. it starts at 120 and gradually works up t0 180 and you guys were at about 150 the whole time.
other than that it was good,
i liked the drill.

It's true, our band director thought, the acceleration was more BOA oriented then it was for UIL, so we added it later. And ps. going 180 is hard! lol
