Here is short demo of AMT Electronics SS-20 Tube pre. My New favourite pedal from AMT!!!

The crunch channel.
The guitar is Custom RG Ibanez with Tone Zone on the bridge and Paf Pro Neck.
It is recorded direct to the input of my EMU1212M sound card. Using the speaker simulation of the SS-20.
Not other FX and EQ used.

  • Great video and great playing.

Do you think this pre-amp is good for the EVH brown sound also?

  • @GermanSampa yeah with a little overdrive in front or even Boss DS1 it will scream ! :)

  • Hi that's an awesome demo! 5 star for you.

are u using the cab emulator output?

I can't get the sound that good.. can u give me some tips.

I'm using mac. I used cabinet impulse as well.. but still can't get the sound as real as yours..

    thanks

  • Yes, I'm using the cab emulator output in this demo. No other processing.

It is the sound coming from ss-20.

    Regards,

    Dimi

  • Well... its easy to make anything sound good when you know how to play like that. :-) very good... would you suggest me to chain up this preamp with the AMT freak guitar or with the DT-2 dist station or both. There is something i dont like about the dt-2, and that is you can not select the various amp models just by stepping into it... i am forced to bend to make the proper adjustments, not like for instance the TRI-AC DISTORTION or the DOUBLE DRIVER (programmable both of them) from TECH21. Than

  • @cosimoriccio :

The AMT Dist Machine DM-3 Distortion is programmable :) and it sounds great!

  • Dimi, I'm disappointed man..no cabinet IR??? These pedals never have good cabinet sims, its always farty, woofy and cheesy sounding. Unless its clean, I'd never plug my guitar into any kind of preamp without an IR loaded.

  • aaah nice, was looking into this - I'm guessing theres also a line-out that bypasses the cab simulation so that one can use their own IR's???

  • hey mister ... nice demo, great tone.

  • Nice Ibanez!
