Marvin Gaye Tellin' the truth. This alternate version dates from 1972. Let's listen to it and adapt it to our current situation, which isn't much different than it was then. We need someone of African descent, one of us. Stevie Wonder supports the Democratic party. The Republicans have done only harm to us in the last 40 years... Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr, you know... They have all been consistanly anti- Civil Rights and anti-Womens' rights. How about a peoples' president? Enough corruption. Bush isn't the only corrupt politician. He's just too easy to catch. I feel that we cannot vote for any Republican, because what that party has represented for 40 years is completely against the African American. The Republicans have really set back civil rights. Democrats stand as the lesser of the 2 evils. So we must vote!
We have only had white male presidents. What sort of melting pot is that? If America's an equal oppurtunity nation, where's a black president? a woman president? a Muslim president? a Jewish president? for the entire existance of this country, it has been ruled by white males. That's no coincendence. America says it isn's a white supremisist nation, but I won't be convinced till we have a non-white male president. Let's make America live up to its so-called equality.
Let's fight oppression through song as we have always done so...

@kwamegaman I doubt that he would, sad to say. He was a Black celebrity, ad most Black celebrities have to devote themselves to Obama, it seems. I admire the man's life and appreciate his music though. I believe what he says in "What's Going On". That song didn't necessarily say "be a Leftist", but it encouraged being active and knowledgeable in politics.

Now, after all that, white conservatives will generally always hate Blacks, but the Democrats aren't our saviors. Save yourself or perish.
