Hello! I know where you got that superman thing - pretty much every major music journalism site has literally copy-pasted the same information from each other. The supervillian information is false. Thank you for mentioning tmv-ATDI, though. The album is inspired by a nursery rhyme, not a comic book. Although, the vinyl version is supposed (hopefully) to come out with a graphic novel of the story - with art and words from Cedric as well as art from Zeque Pena (at least this is what Ced said on

I don't think he really deserves all this hate... the Superman thing is from the PRESS RELEASE that the RECORD LABEL put out. Please don't think we're all a bunch of angry assholes. Because we are. I mean... shit. Fuck WB! :D

Who feels like the fool now Rockitoutblog?
After such a bashing, I would expect a retraction and apology to be recorded.

It's a damn shame your "nerd" rant was due to a case of BAD RESEARCH.
-
You are one that should research more, their album is not about the superman or batman or the whatever the fuck villain, it's an english nursery rhyme, if you are stupid enough to just read NME and rolling stone bullshit and talk wrong about it you are the one that really should RESEARCH MORE.
-
If you did research you'd know that Solomon Grundy was originally a nursery rhyme which is where Cedric took his inspiration from...Rolling Stone reported the Superman thing and it's wrong...
-
I'm sorry but it was The Mars Volta's label (Warner Brothers) that messed up the Solomon Grundy thing. If you happened to be following the band's latest tour, you would know that Cedric sang the entire original poem and his own reference to the subject on his youtube channel, he says it came from the classical poem. The stupid Warner Brothers execs put Superman in the press release - probably because they thought it would sell better.....

me:uhh i have a pizza delivery for radiohead(hold pizza box in my hand with fake delivery guy costume
guy at gate: yeah sure. go right in, you 15 minutes
me:alright thanks
That's because music journalism sucks and everyone copypasted Rolling Stone's article about Noctourniquet which says it's about Solomon Grundy when reality is the album refers to the nursery rhyme Solomon Grundy the comic character is based on... Solomon Grundy,
Born on a Monday,
Christened on Tuesday,
Married on Wednesday,
Took ill on Thursday,
Grew worse on Friday,
Died on Saturday,
Buried on Sunday.
That was the end,
Of Solomon Grundy
