Way back in the midsts of time (early nineties) the mighty Alan Sugar set his Amstrad empire to work creating an electronic Filofax. The results of their labour was the Amstrad PDA600 Penpad.

Like an Apple Newton but even worse, the PDA600 offered basic functionality at a terrifying price. Well, until you started trying to get it to recognise your handwriting, at which point it changed from 'basic' to 'useless'.

Shunned by consumers and given away for a song in Tandy, the PDA600 has faded into obscurity. But then I bought one off eBay and made a video about it. Sorry.

On the plus side, you can learn quite a lot about the way plastic degrades over time from this video.

  • The whole "sticky rubber" thing reminds me of why I didn't like those rubber Wii Remote jackets when they first came out.

  • clicks splurges and the letter g. hmm sound like German

  • hahah 300 pounds

  • @20001javed

I think it's a combination of the voice and his ability to be genuinely hilarious on the spot.

  • The hazard level from leaking alkaline cells to a typical human is massively MASSIVELY overstated. The only reason it's rather nasty for your gadgets is that you tend not to notice the battery has ruptured until the wiring/boards have been saturated for a few months and it's all been corroded to oblivion. Unless you swallow some or leave it on your skin for while, the worst that could conceivably happen from direct contact with the goo is a temporary mild itchiness. :)

  • Whoah, he's a doctor of psychology, didn't see that coming.

That makes him even more awesome!

  • @platinumpokemon8675 I don't think his girlfriend would be happy about that! XD

  • Imagine him having a girl over and doing rude things on that couch and the girl says "have you ever done stuff like this on the couch before?" Ashens reply: "I've done much worse"

  • 09:43 wow that was riskey Ashens , ppl could have seen the numbers if it was for the fast motion

  • @JopeSane He has a PHD in Psychology so yeah, he is a Doctor just not the medical variety.
