Facebook Flu Song.mov

A number of people posted lyrics on my facebook page, then the following day I collected them and made it into a song... all about the flu! (I had the flu at the time and it cheered me right up!) Here are the lyrics...


Roses are red and violets are blue,
But who cares when you have the flu.
I went to the docs to check for real,

I'm running out of tissues at a rate of knots,
My bin's a paper mountain covered in snots.
It's like a whole rainforest's worth of tissue,
Coughing and sneezing, everybody saying 'bless you'

When you're feeling well you've got loads of energy,
Bouncing off the walls, but spare a thought for me.
I long to be well again, be where my friends are,
But I'm stuck at home with full-blown influenza.

One flu over the cuckoo's nest, I hope it didn't catch it.
Not like me, just lying here reading Terry Pratchett!
Actually it's quite good, I rather like a novel,
A fantasy like 'the colour of magic', or even 'the carpet people'

But back to the point I was talking about,
My aching joints I could really do without!
What will I do when I get my strength back?
So many things.... Like riding bare-back

On a rhino, clinging onto it's horn,
With my love who'd buy me roses with no thorns.
Our love would overcome many ills,
But for this flu I need stronger pills!

From lack of sleep, sore and tired my eyes are.
But I'm loving this song, though I'm a blatent plageriser!
This clearly is a work of art written by a committee,
It cheered me up but I've still got the flu, which really is a pity.
