The show will be boring if they kept the same line with their elements of harmony, there will be no friendship problem/problems in general, at all. And on EQD, they are always bitchy about episodes.
The writers are all doing a pretty nice job, writing good dialogues and scenes, and I'm glad I don't have to wait for Megan Mcarty(Lesson Zero, Sweet and Elite,Party of one) to do an episode, to get an awesome episode. Now I can get an excellent episode from A.K. Rogers, C.Fullerton,M.A Larson, etc.

1. Apple Jack was HONEST in saying that she would bring back the much needed money. She was going to do it no matter what. 2. Rainbow Dash was LOYAL in trying to bring Apple Jack back, no matter what. Those things were far more important and took precedent over tiny trivial matters.
Those who took issue with this episode are plain wrong. It was perfect.

I really like how you skip the plot summary and go straight into critiquing the episode. I figure that people who watch these reviews probably have already seen the episode, so all they really need is a proper analysis.

I have felt like that. Back in grade school, my mother would always make me problems to get an A on my spelling tests, and... I... wouldn't. That's one reason why I feel I can't make problems with people.

Also, did anyone happen to notice that Applejack never broke her pinkie promise, because she didn't successfully make one?
When she 'made' the pinkie promise she only did the 'Cross my Heart' and 'Stick a cupcake in my eye' bits, she never 'hoped to fly' meaning she never did make a pinkie promise
If the animators did this on purpose that's a nice attention to detail right there

I know; a lot of people seem to think since they represent their respective elements, they have to follow it no matter what and let it dominate their lives. That's something that bad writers do which unintentionally make their characters look like idiots. I mean, just because AJ is the Element of Honesty, doesn't mean she HAS to tell the truth no matter what, like if there was a war and the enemy asked her for military secrets or something. She's not stupid.

I'll get the prize money for Ponyville, do or die! I do represent the element of [honesty] after all!

@TechnoBrony considering the voice actress I'm thinking it was go with sounding too boyish/slow or using her own normal voice and people complaining about it sounding like Rarity.
They could just bring in a extra to act it but then you'd have the issue of it sounding more off like some background characters do if they talk for too long.

@PaleoSteno Ah, I see. Thank you!
So essentially they no longer have strict requirements to be wholesome and educational. They ARE still pretty wholesome and educational, but don't have a detailed rulebook to follow.

To those who think this is too over the top for a children's cartoon, my question is this; chimmicherry?cherrychonga?
What is an "EI rating"?
maekern 1 month ago
@maekern "E/I, which stands for "educational and informational," refers to a type of children's television programming shown in the United States. The Federal Communications Commission requires that every full-service Terrestrial television station in the U.S. show at least three hours of these television programs every week. The E/I program requirements were enacted as part of the Children's Television Act of 1990."
