  • the worst part was screwing up the number. hanging up and redialing. oh god!

    as annoying as that was you don't get the same sense of satisfaction when you slam a cell phone down as you do one of these babies!

  • My parents had one of these, and the damn cockatiel learned to imitate it, causing many a frantic dash from the bathroom/back garden etc to end in tears.

    Ah, the good old days, and mechanical pulse encoders in phones. Blistered fingertips from repeat dialling that important number that was engaged for six hours.
