Kia Sorento
2007-08 models
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST

OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Good Good Good Good Marginal Acceptable

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Kia Sorento was introduced in the 2003 model year. All 2007 and later Sorento models include frontal airbag and seat belt modifications to improve occupant protection in frontal offset crashes. A driver knee airbag was added at the same time.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was reasonably well controlled. During rebound, the dummy's head hit the B-pillar and roof rail. Plus the driver's seat tipped toward the door.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia and foot indicate that injuries to the lower leg and foot would be possible. Head acceleration was low from the B-pillar hit and negligible from the roof rail hit.

  • lol wow this is better than a AMERICAN car nig

  • actually they're not. The Sorento is body on frame, not unibody (car) style. The Sorento is rwd based, not fwd, and they're simply different vehicles.

  • the 2002-2009 Kia Sorento was assembled in

    Hwasung Plant, Hwasung, South Korea

    Izhevsk, Udmurtia, Russia

  • @1969fordtruck Ford does have have some ownership in Kia (since 1986 or so), but Hyundai owns the controlling interest in the company (since is went through bankruptcy in 1998). If you look at Kia you will see they currently share platforms with Hyundai (Engines, etc...). So your right that ford does own some of Kia, but not the controlling interest.

    Cheers!

  • @Porsche1080 ... ummm for the reason i just told you in my last message to you look up ^^^^^^^^^ i could name a few but instead of naming them i will just give you the criteria for a " Real Car " ; any car that has a full frame not unibody , any car that is rear wheel drive or awd not front wheel drive , and any car that is made out of tin or plastic is junk ... death trap ....

  • @1969fordtruck ok then. What is a "REAL car?" and why the hell are you watching this video?

  • @Porsche1080 .... actually yes ford owns kia look it up ... my mom has a p.o.s. kia they are crap not worth nothing .... and she has a kia sorento which is why i was watching this video to show her how unsafe these cars are ... now she is looking to get rid of her kia and buy a REAL car

  • @1969fordtruck actually no its not.

time to get out of 1969. This is 2010 and Kia is a growing auto company

  • kia is owned by ford .....

  • @judedelux

And in my channel did I not state "Support American companies"? I agree being an American doesnt stop when it comes to purchasing, but the only difference between you and me is, you bash anything thats not American, I in the other hand will give my honest opinion versus being bias. (I will never buy a foreign product)

  • @judedelux

I can comphrend well. Tell me one thing I have'nt understood correctly. Or are you just rambling on again? If somebody told me Israel had the Army, of coarse I would argue back defending the U.S. Army. Like if somebody said the Kia Sorento was better then a Ford Edge, I would defend the Ford. My point is, no matter where it maybe from, if I see something good then I'm going to give a honest opinion, not this bias crap. And sorry your wrong, Kia means Rise From Asia in Korean.

  • @CHASE06051990 If you really are in the Army then take advantage of their how to develop reading comprehension skills classes. Damn I sure hope the Army doesnt have you doing anything that requires reading. I wonder what would you say if people said that the Israelis had the best Army? Many say Americans say it. My point has been that being an American doesnt stop when you do your purchasing. Hence, Kia in Korean means Big American Loser
