Jeez, 1:39 to 1:50 REALLY makes Andy and Joe look like boyfriends. Even the music!

Even though Mai wasn't conceived until Fatal Fury 2 was in the planning I still would have ret-conned her in the OVA if for no other reason than to counteract the homoeroticism between Andy and Joe.

(But then again, there's allot I would have done differently had I been writing the OVA.)

Joe's ultimate attack is similar to the hurricane punch....weird. I think that's y the hurricane punch had never been included in the game for Terry.

@RenkonNairu Mind you, the original screenplay probably did have the original game in mind, but the producer and director may have scrapped it for reasons unknown to us that made more sense from a cinematic perspective. I give props to this piece overall, because it was a HELL of a lot more accurate than ANY of the SF animes that have no tournament at all. I wish this TV Special was longer so we could get a proper intro to Geese, Terry and Andy.

@RenkonNairu father is serious stuff and that was what made FF a better story than SF in the first place. If you don't make FF serious then there becomes a moral dilemna of whether killing for revenge is right or wrong. The moral here is that there are some situations when killing is a better option than imprisonment. Whether we agree or not is a separate issue, but making it unserious calls into question the morality of Terry Bogard as a hero. Making it serious keeps him a hero.

@RenkonNairu Most of that I would have done as well, but then you run into other problems such as how does Geese survive the fall without revealing that he does. Andy never made it to the roof in the game as only the winner of the KOF tournament was abducted so it wasn't supposed to be that way either. Fighting in different locations in SouthTown sounds easy, but I can see why they opted out of it for time and money constraints. Why not make the game serious? Someone killing another person's
