The second season he openly insults the use of the computer nerds they have on board, who expand use their skills to expand the radar. But worst of all he develops a feud with Jane Taylor who is a trained naval officer, and say's how he doesn't even believe in the military. Fuck that I'll take orders from her long before I'd take them from him since she is a real naval officer, where he just woke up one day and started pretending to be one.

In the first episode when they were trying to launch the small boat it tipped over, it was all his fault. The procedure is only the driver is in the boat when it is hosted on the crane and the others go over the side, but he said I quote: "Whoevers getting in?". Are you telling me he doesn't know the procedure after 30 years?

ENS - Japanese Sailors have set off an explosion on their Own Whaling vessel.
Japanese Whalers transport Explosives at sea. The Japanese crew somehow accidentally set them off Thursday, the Inst of Cetacean Research said.
The body of Kazutaka Makita, 27, was found on the ship's deck, killed by the Japanese in the mishap.
The Japanese denied help, despite radio inquiries from the US Coast Guard.
