It would probably work pretty well. My shades have a gold tint to them so I guess everything looks that way when I am outside. I think if we had gold (not quite red) filters in all the time it would be a pretty cool experient.

I was recently hoping you would do a video walking around the hab. Thanks Ryan! It does kinda look like Mars outside......HEY, I just had an awesome idea. What if the windows had a red tint to them so that everything outside looked Martian red...and what if the space helmets also had a red tint. What would THAT do to the immersion factor of your simulation??
