Welcome to Camp New Horizons, where an automn retreat brings together a group of obnoxious rich kids and surely city thugs for an "experiment in sharing". But when the notorious transsexual psychopath Angela Baker (Pamela "Yes she's Bruce's Sister" Springsteen) Joins the horny teens, she shares a lesson in butchery with axes, trucks, firecrackers, lawnmowers and more. Academy Award nominee Micheal J. Pollard (1967, Bonnie and Clyde) and Tracy ("Yes she's Melanie's sister") Griffith co-star in this third installement of the cult body-count saga, packed with all the cruel killings you love, the gratuitous nudity you expect. Trivia:

Most of the characters in the film are named after characters from West Side Story (1961), "The Brady Bunch" (1969) and "The Munsters" (1964)


The hockey mask Angela used in Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) is seen in the fishing scene. As it is pulled out of the water, another camper remarks that the date is "Saturday the 14th."


Since it was filmed back-to-back with Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers (1988) in a six-week period, the same set was used for both films, a YMCA youth camp in Georgia.

Tracy Griffith originally auditioned for the part of Angela before being cast as Marcia.

The movie's subtitle "Teenage Wasteland" comes from one of the director's favorite songs (The Who's "Baba O'Reilly").


The girls' cabin is the same one used in the previous film, simply redressed.

Crew or equipment visible: As Angela drives off (with Bobby's arms) the camera/crew are reflected in the back window of the jeep.


Continuity: When Jan is in the tent and Herman is trying to coerce her into letting him inside, another tent appears between shots.


Continuity: Herman's position on the ground changes just before Angela sticks him in the mouth.


Continuity: When Angela is chasing Maria with the truck, she drops her stuff in the road. After Angela kills her and stuffs her into the garbage crusher thing, she drops her stuff into it.


Revealing mistakes: When Marcia sees Lily, her mouth opens but no sound comes out (this is fixed in a deleted scene)


Continuity: When Marcia sees the note about Angela, Cindy comes in without her sweatshirt, but a couple of seconds later, it's on.


Revealing mistakes: After Anglea kills Herman, he is seen breathing.


Crew or equipment visible: When Maria is walking down the street and the camera is following her, someone is reflected in a shop window pushing the dolly.


Revealing mistakes: After Anglea kills Jan, she stuffs her into her tent and Jan rolls herself over to her side.


Crew or equipment visible: When Tawny pulls up her car to sniff the "cocaine", a man's head is reflected in the triangular window.

Continuity: Lily Miranda's body position changes after she is buried to facilitate only her head being exposed to mow.

Continuity: SPOILER: Toward the end, when all three camp members are tied up and running into the second cabin, the girl on the left trips and the man in the middle reaches down and helps her up with his left hand. In the next shot, his hand is tied in front of him.


Continuity: SPOILER: In the final climactic battle, when Marcia stabs Angela more times then it shows. (this is fixed in a deleted scene)


Revealing mistakes: SPOILER: When Bobby is seen dead in the cabin at the end of the film it is obvious his arms are inside his sweatshirt, not ripped off. There also is not enough blood on his clothing to match his injuries.

LOL! Well they do, just not immediately! I've never really read too much into Angela's character, maybe she's sensitive to those words because she was born a boy (Peter Baker). Plus anti-gay slurs were pretty common in 80's movies, especially "fag", "faggot" and "queer". Just about every Eddie Murphy movie and his comedy routines and him into transy's in real life! LOL
