Lets review history, the DixieCrats. Democrats who left the Democrats over the Civil Rights Movement and became Republicans. This is why the Southern states do not vote for democrats, it was racism.

BTW, The Republicans arguments have not been based on facts in this debate, they are the ones "pounding the table". They have no interest in participating in passing reform, they see this as an opportunity to regain power.
