@jteshuwah Ted Hawkins was discovered by a BBC DJ called Andy Kershaw. He brought him to the UK, got him recorded and started to get him noticed. It 's nice when a DJ actually cares that much about music / musicians and not just about playing songs to satisfy the radio advertisers / bosses. John Peel was another great DJ who nurtured young bands. It's a shame the BBC doesn't do enough for bands and DJs like them.

Somebody post more Ted Hawkins like the stuff from Happy Hour and Watch Your Step

My uncle made me a TAPE some years back with this song on it. Great stuff. Thanks for posting.

another nearly undiscovered Blues genius! i'm so glad for labels like Fat Possum and for whoever it was that "found" this guy. the world needs more REAL music like this. without it, we'd never know Pop garbage, was garbage, and the world would be a little bit worse. it's bad enough already!
I wonder if this guy influenced Ray Lamontagne it sounds like it to me
