My blue male's first clutch. He is now doing all the feeding so the hen can take a break from breeding.

  • I wish you shipped to Alaksa..sigh.

  • @akwolfsong Interesting, I googled and didn't find any canary breeders in Alaska. Try contacting your state's bird club.

  • do you have to always seperate the birds and i think my 1 get along bcause they do chirp to each other but ive only had em for 5 days and the male is just about singing but they do tweet sometime n can u tell me do u have to seperate them and buy a breeding cage.

  • @khawarrazashah I usually keep the pairs separated until breeding season. If they are together all the time, they might breed all the time & your hen will not live as long. Or they might start to fight because the males don't like to share their cage space after they are finished feeding the chicks.

  • my canary eggs does not hatch after 20 days. (*v*)

  • that's always so disappointing. give it a few more days, then try pulling the nest & starting over. don't just remove the egg, take the nest out so that the hen won't lay without mating.
