@flatpicking yes, I know what you mean, and I could hear that the melody was "around". I only think that the melody should have more presence all along. IThis doesn't mean that the improvisation turns into a karaoke.

@Blueaspen391 Thanks I appreciate your comment...but, the melody IS there in the harmony...it is an improvisation from a lead sheet.....I fill out the melody in the chords and accompanyment and improvise on it as I go along...The irony is that it is meant to hint at the tune rather than be karoke and obvious....But, yeah I will try better next time...Many thanks....
