Video Highlights of Historic St. Mark Church in Cincinnati, Ohio

Help restore historic St. Mark Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a parish dedicated exclusively to the traditional Latin liturgy and performing all of the sacraments in the more ancient form of the Roman Rite. This project was initiated by Una Voce of Greater Cincinnati, a lay-run organization dedicated to helping Pope Benedict XVI restore the devout reverence, loving piety and timeless beauty of the Traditional Latin Mass! It is encouraged and supported by His Excellency Dennis M. Schnurr, Archbishop of Cincinnati. We invite everyone to join this labor of love for our Catholic Faith!

The church was designed by renowned ecclesiastical architect Henry J. Schlacks (founder of Notre Dame University's architecture program) in the Roman Basilica style. Construction began in 1914 and the church was dedicated on June 4, 1916. It was closed in 2010 and the parish was merged with three other Cincinnati parishes to form the newly created Resurrection parish. The St. Mark's church and property are owned by, and being sold for for the benefit of, Resurrection parish.

This video contains images of the St. Mark Church in its current, unrestored condition. Highlights include hand-carved marble altars, marble baldacchino over 20 feet tall, solid carrara marble pulpit, original stained glass windows custom made for St. Mark's in Germany, hand carved marble statues and original oil paintings.
