@vmax135 I know it is possible, but the HIGHEST winds I've EVER experienced from a thunderstorm (I live in West Palm Beach) excluding hurricanes was 18 m/s. And that was in February 12.

Unlike a typical US thunderstorm (excluding summer Florida thunderstorms), summer Florida thunderstorms rarely (if any) have wind speeds greater than 4 m/s (about 10 mph).

@mainchow10 Quite the contrary... typical Florida pulse storms frequently reach severe levels and produce straight-line winds in excess of 20 m/s ... and sometimes over 35 m/s.

I don't get it. How does thunderstorms occur in South Florida almost every day from late May to September? Maybe a non-portable low pressure system?

@mainchow10 Florida's summer climate produces intense daytime heating with widespread thunderstorms initiating as the cooler sea-breeze boundary moves inland each afternoon.
