As a concerned citizen, I find it necessary to reveal the dangers for pedestrians walking in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Why? Because we need a safer environment for people walking to and from work! The city should be investing in better signs or a flashing light to warn drivers that pedestrians have the right of way. A fine ignoring crosswalks is $100! In less than 71/2 minutes, the city could have made $194,000!!! That's 194 cars that ignored pedestrians, making it unsafe to walk across a very busy street. Come on City Council! Help make Columbus safe for everyone! Especially our pedestrians on foot!

  • There is no crosswalk lighting or a street light there, cross at your own risk or go to an intersection that offers a guarded crosswalk. Other than that, shut up........

  • your not supposed to try to walk while there is ongoing traffic comming you wait till traffic clears then cross and another thing pedestrians should know the drivers have to watch the road they cant look over at the sidewalk on a busy street like this

  • @stevenstreets3 i agree. subway is good idea.

  • Yea, look both ways and cross the street, 60 seconds o my god!!!!!! ever been to new york? jackass

  • You want it safe have the city put up lights. Cause if there is not light I am not stopping just to let you cross.

  • Need an overhead walkway like the BIG cities have! lol

  • Columbus needs a subway but folks are so dumb here they would stick it right in the middle of this very street and call it a trolley.

There used to be a White Castle at this very spot across the street from Ohio Bell at 111 n. 4th.

Seriously fellow Columbians, ask a 5 year old Japanese kid; this town needs a subway. People here cannot drive to save their own lives and a subway would enable them to leave the car at home. It would save lives and billion$ in human body parts. A tornado shelter too

  • hey I used to be a member of that Telhio Credit Union back when my ex fiance worked at COSI

  • who gives a fuck

  • In Germany, this sort of situation is easily handled by painting zebra stripes on the road at this "crossing". If the community wishes to save money by now using a light they will opt for zebra stripes. Perhaps there exists a video on youtube about it. I'm living in Germany, people understand this concept and I have NEVER had a problem before. They must wait for something terrible to happen until action is taken, or what?
