On August 11, 2011 Central Maine Orthopaedics (CMO) participated in National Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Open House Day by opening the doors of their facility to federal, state, and local officials. The purpose of the event was to educate their guests of the benefits of an ASC to a community.
ASCs are medical facilities designed for less-complicated surgical procedures that do not require an overnight hospital stay. ASCs address many of the challenges in today's health care environment and are expected to play a key strategic role in future healthcare delivery and health policy strategies at the state and federal levels.
