Yup, this pretty well sums up how useless a bug-out bag is and how stupid internet survivalists are. It's all pretty much nonsense, probably started by people that sell survival equipment.
As long as you don't live someplace like next to a fragile seawall or near the base of an active volcano, the safest place in any disaster is probably going to be in your own home. If a tornado levels your home without warning and you survive it, then your now vacant yard is as good a place as any to camp out
The worst part is he's not even exaggerating. Now do one about that retard that wanted to know how to concealed carry a .50 barret and was going to build an 'assault submarine' out of a propane tank.
@KungFuKid1015 Let me be clear, I live out in the country, BUT, I would not want to rely on the wilderness, and yes I DO have REAL survival training outside Youtube and survival shows, unlike most people I suspect. But, I would want to reap the benefits of what the city, or towns can offer while I can first. And first off, I would try and stay home FIRST instead of bugging out! Get your heads out of your asses. Prepare, but don't be ridiculous about it.
Why does everyone buy into this damn Hollywood version of disaster where everyone must go to the woods to survive? Where there is total breakdown of society? Seriously, in the entire history of civilization, how many times have you read where there is no law and order, or no sense of community or organization after a disaster? Ok, granted, I would much rather be at peace in the woods, but why downgrade the city? That's where the resources are. People need to wake up!
