@sh9683 funny you mentioned Vimy, as I am in the process of compiling a book of Soldiers from the State of Oklahoma who are buried in American Cemeteries in Europe. Interesting fact, those cemeteries are actually United States Territory. On my travels to Europe, I saw many, many Oklahomans buried there and new quite a few of these families. Most had never seen their uncle, dad, granddad or cousins marker, much less been there. That made me want to publish this book, a sure money loser.

@sh9683 cont., with Verdun being the most depressing. The most impressive? Point du Hoc, where the Rangers scaled the cliffs under fire to take out German 88's, only to find them not there. Found them later though and disabled them. The Cemetery overlying Omaha Beach left me speechless. We pound out hateful words on these computers on YT, a sad testament to what they died for.

@sh9683 No, pirates were raiding merchant ships in the Mediterranian, Jefferson sent the Navy to end the raids, it worked. War of 1812 has been considered by most to be a military draw, yet the British left, never to return. not that I'm a stickler for spelling, but it is Vimy Ridge, where the Canucks finally broke the German lines during WWI, as British and French troops had failed. (i don;t in any way support pirates) but america didn't defend itself by going there in aggression against them!

@hopeurforfreedom i have trouble with tyrants especially those who send troops over seas based on war propaganda! lies! inside jobs! those who have the power to destroy the world, but attacks small countries that don't have that power, puts paranoya in peoples minds about countries like iran just to push there foreign policy! its only a matter of time before america brings its foreign policy home, then it will be you who suffers! not civilians over seas!

@sh9683 maybe you think enslaving people through communism is ok. maybe you think rape rooms, paying families money if their children will become human bombs is ok. You seem to have no trouble with tyrants, free people do, or is it you that loves tyranny? Remember, if you even know this, Thomas Jefferson sent the Navy to quell the pirates in Libya. Tis' the tyrants who start these wars, we just stand up for what is right. You may have a problem with this, but you are free, others aren't.
