I figured out a way to use my Fiskars Texture plates in my Cuttlebug machine! In this video, I will show you the "sandwich" to make so you can do it too! :)

  • Hey I was not sure if you would know this....but instead of using Spellbinders tan mats can you use Texturz Silicone Rubber mats from Stampin up? Are they thicker than the Spellbinders?

  • I'm not sure...I've never used the SU rubber mats. If you find out, please let me know, though!

  • I did this and the embossing doesn't show up so well only 10% of the embossing show :(

  • Have u tried putting 1 or 2 pcs of cardstock on top of the 2nd Spellbinders mat? That will give a little more thickness. The embossing shows up really well with mine using this recipe, but I think every machine is a little different. So you might need to tweak the recipe and find out what works for you. My friend uses this recipe: A plate, Fiskars plate face up, Paper/Cardstock to be embossed face down, Spellbinders mat, C plate. I tried her recipe and it's way too thick for my machine.

  • Hey! I figured out to use it I did the exact thing but I flipped upside down so the A plate was on the top instead of the bottom. Thanks :)

  • Yay!!! :o)

  • Having met the creator of Spellbinders dies, all you need is a flexible mouse pad...works like a dream.

  • The mouse pad works. Just cut it to the size of your plate.

I just got a bug and have had the texture plates forever.

My sandwich was A Plate, Texture Plate, Card Stock, Mouse Pad, 1 thin Chipboard, B Plate

  • thank you for this. I have loads of Fiskars plates, and my hubby's getting me a cuttlebug for Christmas.

  • I know this is a old video but i'm getting my cuttlebug next month for my bday and i'll be using my texture plates now Thank you so much....Terrie

  • @levingandjenise I bought the rubber mat and the texture plate from Stampin UP and tried using them with my Texturz plates but I cannot get the right thickness to get a properly embossed image. I have tried using cardboard or a small stack of cardstock to act as a sandwich and I did get slightly better results but still haven't acheived that perfect embossed image yet.

  • what is the price for a cuttlebug? i really want one!! :)

  • I do the same thing but I use fun foam:)

  • TYFS. I ordered a cuttlebug and already have alot of Fiskars texture plates. Great idea.

  • OMG, it works!!!!! Thanks so VERY much for this video. By chance I did a Google search for this combination. I have had these Fiskar plates for so long, I didn't know where I had stored them until recently. I am sooo excited,,,Yippee!!!

  • Wonderful! Using the flexible inserts for a little give is a perfect idea. Thanks for sharing!

  • Thank you so much. I wrote the sandwich instruction down. Keep the videos coming-LOL
