The second game in Codemasters' Dizzy series, and the first to be released on the ST and Amiga. I'd forgotten just how unforgiving it is; Few games only give you one life anymore, and make you start from the beginning every time you die. I don't really remember the order to use the items in, so this video is a little aimless.

  • can someone tell me something ive been wanting to find out for the last 15-20 years what did u have to do on this game, i used to play it load but never knew what you had to do lol

  • @marklewisbcfc The point of the game was to escape Treasure Island; if you passed through the water on the right of the starting point, and over the next island, you eventually come to a pirate, who'll agree to take you off the island, in exchange for gold coins (26, I think). So then you had to go back and find all of the coins.

  • May I ask how did you record this footage?

  • @Paar86 I think I probably used my emulator to output a sequence of still images, whilst also outputting the audio to a file, and then I put them together in VirtualDub. Or maybe I just used Fraps! I can't remember.

  • Ive still got my Atari ST, and it works,,,, and I have this Game. I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Nice! Excellent choice of ringtone, too.

  • never completed this, got pretty far though!! ICANFLY! looool

  • @MegabyteUnleashed LMAO i know it just seems very odd, i personally think it was a mistake by giving the one life!

  • @rainxxxx No, I didn't mean they were making it like real life (I think the walking egg puts that out straight away). I was just saying life has 1 life, so why not a game? Makes it insanely brutal. Maybe you did get more lives on the other versions. The Atari version didn't.

  • @MrHeli hahah thats exactly what I used to do!!! Lent it my mate once and he made a map, still didn't know what to do though

  • @MegabyteUnleashed 1 life is silly and im sure you get more than 1 on the 8 bit versions, if they did try to make it like real life then they failed

  • @rainxxxx 1 life because you get 1 life in life. So why not? Plus it makes the game brutal. As for the falling platforms, you only die if you hit something, like a flame. But the death would only happen once you land, so if you jump off something and pass through a flame, you wouldn't die there, but when you landed, making it look like you died from the jump.

  • i had this game dont make sense, if you fall off high platforms you die, if you fall off even higher platforms sometimes you dont die, and why 1 life?

  • ONE LIFE! ONE LIFE! That game was punishing. Even with the cheats activated, it was near impossible to beat
