Four-time Iditarod champ Martin Buser is hitting Alaska's TV airwaves on behalf of Best Beginnings and early learning. He and local video company Sprocketheads donated their time to produce this spot, which is airing statewide as a public service announcement.

Buser's message is that babies and children -- even more so than dogs -- need quality time and attention right from the start. "It all starts in the puppy pen," is one of his favorite mantras. "Great dogs are no accident. They take a lot of quality time and attention to be good racers. It's even more so with children," Buser says. "Singing, reading, talking, and playing together when they're young make all the difference later.
