  • Why should I wait "for the people to be calm" as you stated in your e-mail before I bring the story forward, why should I wait when in 2004 in Gonaives alone it was 300,000 families devasteded and 3,000 dead today the death toll is 715 so far as we know. How many more deads for next year? I ask you my friends.

  • A budget was proposed and yet nothing was done, my question is Why? why should we wait for next year for more hurricanes to come and destroy our land and kill our people, why should we wait for more and more money to be allocated for the same reasons and again nothing will be done.

  • The role of our Leaders should be to anticipate upcoming events in order to better handle them, in that specific case of hurricane devastation it was their responsibility to prevent a new disaster and especially when they had the means to do so.

  • Today I am speaking not only as a journalist but as a concerned citizen who believes that the truth must be unveil to all no matter how poignant it may be, especially when $30,870,688.64 was allocated in 2005 to restore and prevent upcoming disasters such as what we have today in 2008.

  • In the case of our beloved Haiti recently hit by four hurricanes I am sure that every Haitian no matter what happened in the past, no matter how many times government officials had lied to us, betrayed us in order to enrich themselves along with their families and clan members we as a "People" still find the strength and the will to help our brothers and sisters from "Gonaives" our children from "Cabaret" and from any other devastated areas of Haiti.

  • I believe that when natural disasters strikes any part around the world it is in the human nature to find compassion to help each other despites our race, nationality religion or political views, it is our duty as fellow citizens to come together and lend a helping hand to the less fortunates.

  • Haiti is being ruled by a bunch of incompatent, corrupt thieves and this makes me sick to my stomach. These people are up in Kenscoff, Petion-ville and Jacmel living in their chateaux while the rest of the people live off the street and eat mudcakes. They all should be fired and replaced with Swedes...That way we all know the money will get to the people. they are nothing but vampires that steal from the poor and I hope they burn in hell for that!!!!!!!!!

  • That's the kind of reporting we need to expose how corrupt and how incompetent those that are elected to offices are. If preventive measures were taken after the first storm, the extent of the damage and death toll this year would have certainly been less. The majority of those involved need to be prosecuted and face some sort of justice. They indirectly caused the death of those that didn't have a chance.

  • I understand why you may feel that way, but giving up is what you sound like you're doing. Giving Up is the hope of the people who do not like Haiti, and want to see us wipeout. Our hearts must not be defeited, it is the very thing we have in our posession that will be able to change Haiti. Remember "If We give up they win" remember it is Almost guaranteed to have someone that is related to us Suffering as a result of these Storms, because we're not doing enough.Lets all get together a fix this
