From Joseph Tame of http://www.tamegoeswild.com In Jiyugaoka, 10 minutes south-west of Shibuya, Tokyo, they've come up with a novel way of tackling the problem they had with a lack of space for bike parking. They've dug two huge holes and installed robotic conveyor belts. Here's a demo if it in action!

Can I park my kids in this thing?

@benpie12
Its possible, but I'm sure the developers have thought about all scenarios that would cause harm or damage to humans, the bicycles, and the entire bike system. So there is probably sensors that would detect anything thats not a bicycle in the entrance.
