The Florida Highway Patrol and local law enforcement started their three-day holiday traffic crackdown at midnight.
Police are advising drivers to slow down and buckle up, WESH 2 News reported.
"We're looking for aggressive drivers, motorists that are running red lights and drivers that are using lanes that are not designated," one officer said.
Officers said that they know people have a lot on their minds.
"We're not trying to interfere with anybody's Christmas shopping, we're just trying to make the roads safer," Altamonte Springs police officer Dom Carbonaro said.
