www.Mphspecialties.com. Another Subaru 360 hits the road!. This Sedan was proabaly the worst, most involved, mechanical 360 restoration I've done. The gas tank was rusted so badly there was no bottom, the oil tank was split, the carb was a rusted lump, the throttle and choke plate were rusted solid, I fabricated a new throttle cable and saved the E-brake cables, the hydraulic brakes were molten goo, I relined the shoes, removed inches of layers of moss from the body, and on and on.... I don't know if I have a passion to restore these 360's, or pension for torture.....

  • what oil do you use. 2t oil

  • @12valvepower4 I use Redline synthetic smokeless two stroke oil, it's not completely smokeless, but the engines do smoke less...

  • Oh... How funny. I was watching the vid and knew exactly where you were. I dump my yard debris right by your shop, and have seen the 360s parked behind the fence. Very cool. I'd love to see one in person.

  • @grandcarriage1 stop by some time....

  • Alright, I don't wanna sound stupid but, I have a 1990 Polaris 250 Trailboss ATV, it's a single cyl. 2 stroke made by Fuji Heavy Industries, I know Fuji owns Subaru, so do these 2 motors have any relation?

  • Not stupid. Fuji Heavy Industries has a facinating history and has built lots of stuff including airplanes. I guess the engines are related ......like distant cousins

  • Actually owned one of these while I lived in Okinawa. Great car, could go at least 45MPH if you planned far ahead. But since the speed limit, at the time, was only 30 (50K/ph), not a real issue. Did have an event at the beach where I actually ran over myself with my own car. Notorious getting it to start sometimes, so frequently pushed... the "suicide door" hit me in the back, down I went with the rear wheels trailing down my back. Russell/Mayumi

  • Owch! Not the best car to push start by ones self. I though running over my own foot was bad... you take the cake my friend
