  • can you tell me how you have build this please

  • @tobby2468 check out the forums at nuigroup for build logs and tutorial. (link in the sidebar)

  • joobs, is the surface just acrylic or do you use paper, because I can't see how you get the Web Cam to detect the IR through paper, can it?

  • The top of the surface is a projection screen material, then there is a layer of silicone, then there is acrylic. So the IR ight isnt going through any projection material. There are other ways to set these up where you do have lots of IR and it does shine through the projection screen.

  • that's great, and the silicone and the projection screen goes on top of the Acrylic? That won't make it harder to interrupt the IR beams?

  • in IR is trapped in the acrylic, due to total internal reflection. The IR LEDs are shining into the sides of the acrylic. When the silicon is pressed down onto the acrylic surface is breaks the internal reflection and IR light shines downwards into the webcam.

  • tthats very cool

  • @michillin212 I applied this through a net curtain to give it a rough texture to stop it from (sticking to the acrylic). Its applied to the projection screen. I wouldn't recommend my method, try something like youtube(dot)com/watch?v=vvO_lvyDGVo

  • Cool i can do his too but are you projecting the pc image onto the glass?

  • so i'm interested in building one of these... but i'm still unsure on some things.... the table is a receptor for touch, but what send the data (pictures, videos) to the surface table itself??
