To draw birds, consider the type of bird and the position it is in before beginning, using either a vertical or horizontal format accordingly, and include a round body, long neck, beak, feet and three toes. Draw different types of birds with creative tips from a professional illustrator in this free video on drawing.

  • its like cartoon

  • @evanmuns i can try to post a tutorial on how to draw a REAL bird if you like but no promising it will go right i can draw realy good my friends tell me, but it is hard because im 11 and geting it on camera will be hard

  • birds do not usually a have three toes! they usually have four toes!

  • @Enishu i find this more helpful than going into a drawing school in iceland,i mean in iceland the only thing we do there is making stuff out of clay and draw very stupid drawings.

  • @Enishu Your mean, get a life, and it does NOT suck. :O so he is for real!

  • lefty!!!

  • If you REALLY want to draw birds, you actually need to learn avian musculature, skeleton structure, wing anatomy, feather types, etc. You wont get far without this knowledge. But the good thing is, if you get good at it, lots of girls like bird tattoos, so you could find work for that.

  • I like this artist, but I don't think this tutorial answers the topic at hand - drawing from nature. EHow keeps finding cartoonists, and then asks them to do things outside their area of expertise. There are many different kinds of birds. For a good simple chart to different wing types and anatomy, look up Cedarseed on deviantart. Also look up Kev Lewis on that site as well. He's a great bird photographer. This is a topic that requires research and study to learn. Not a 3 minute tutorial.
