"A glowing beacon from Ruston, Louisiana (also hometown of Athens-bound Elephant 6 heroes, Neutral Milk Hotel) , Giant Cloud, formerly known as John Henrys Hammer, was a true highlight of the evening with their intimate 5 piece set. Julie Odell provides honeydew vocals and soft, meticulous keyboard; the young, bearded, Benjamin Jones provided amazing liquid vocals and drifting guitar; Trey Stephens en bass; Anton Overby at masterfully subdued Drums; & Preston Whittenburg on perfectly meshed backup vocals and gorgeous guitar. The bands organic rumor mill has it they may be headed for New Orleans soon, where they hope to (as Preston so eloquently puts it) get stabbed and shit. A fitting title, Giant Cloud reminds me of Beach House? mixed with Grizzly Bear and.. Man Man? no, that doesnt settle it... They definitely have an inimitable style and grace, and should not be missed for any reason. Hows that? No, Im so serious."
