Ce rare documentaire revient sur la vie et l'art de Ravi Shankar, joueur de sitar virtuose indien le plus renommé au monde, premier ambassadeur de la musique indienne. C'est à partir de 1956 qu'il la popularise en Occident. Nous le suivons alors qu'il donne son dernier concert européen à Paris, salle Pleyel, lors de son unique cours public sur son art, moment de grande émotion (scènes entrecoupées d'explications par un musicologue) et enfin alors qu'il transmet son art à sa fille, Anoushka. Ce documentaire qui mêle scènes de concert, d'enseignement et d'enregistrement, est une sorte dau revoir de/à l'artiste.

  • At around 1.47 you can see the Ravi Shankar Centre in New Delhi, which is basically the Shankar's home. I am one of the few, resident students here and have lived there each winter from 2003 and in total spent about 11-12 months there. This is a beautiful video.

  • @EmpathicAlchemist No not anyone, only disciples of Pt Ravi Shankar although i believe they now do classes for schoolchildren and younger talented musicians.
