  • Great playing and a nice arrangement by Cedar Walton.

  • I didn't know that this version was an arrangement by Cedar Walton... Thanks for your comment! Do you have the sheet music of this arrangement by any chance??

  • Sounds better when under the influence of cheap booze , why is that ? answers on a a postcard please to zzzz

  • I have to confess that it's a fabulous solo of Monty. It's really a pity that he's not all the time at this top level. When he plays with people like Jackson or John, it's always top. But when he is with his several different trios of today, most of the time, it' becomes borring because he has not this inspiration taht he has with Jackson, Ray Brown, Clark Terry, Herb Ellis, Lewis Nash, Ed Thigpen ....

  • That's right, It's a Cedar Walton arrangement made for Milt Jackson 20 years ago. They finally recorded it on "Reverence and Compassion" on Warner Records

  • I never tire of listening to one of my favorite Jazz pianists of all time.

  • @juantxidereus where can you buy a copy of the documentary monty! the many facets of monty alexander

  • To slapmyfunkybass I want to add this, Please know that I hate people who gossip. but if it's true it must b told. This is one way 4 me 2 get this across. It's the Truth SHMGod. We loved each other but he had a problem and I ws 2 young 2 c. ! Now and then I wish we cld talk and he cld apologize. Writing on here Gives him an opportunity right? In this day and age, he'd be in prison for a vry long time.. well, no he'd pay to get out. Hope I answered your ? :)

  • @slapmyfunkybass Emily, younger lke myself than MA. She ws a Great Guitarist who came on the rd with us.A yr later, we spoke, she was marrying him. sd he wil hurt u,she said she ws bigger thanhim. Next yr or2 I heard she killed herself, after breaking his thumbs. He told me this in NY when I reluctantly wnt 2 c him again. Don't know if I believe the story, he was an Opportunist. I've tried 2 talk w/ him but He acts like He doesn't remember hitng me. I JUST WNT APOLOGY.for hearing loss :(
