  • One of the greatest lessons we can learn from Ruth is the lesson of kindness. She was extremely kind to her mother-in-law. Do you look for ways to show kindness to your family and friends? Do you put others first, or do you insist on having your own way? Ruth was richly rewarded for her unselfishness. She would marry a fine man, Boaz, and she would become an ancestor of our Lord Jesus.

Show unselfishness and God will be pleased.

  • from Ruth 1: 16-17

...(16) But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. (17) Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the LORD deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.” 18 When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to go with her, she stopped urging her.

  • The story of Ruth and Naomi can be found in the Bible in the book of Ruth chapters 1-4.
