The song was produced and "arranged" (i.e. partly rewritten) by Paul McCartney (sheet music was published with this arrangement and adorned with Mary's image). The acoustic guitar and bass are both played by Paul, and Ringo is on drums! I tend to believe the lead guitar is George Harrison as it sounds like him (rather than Paul as many allege). Soooo it's essentially a lost Beatle recording but with lead vocal by Mary Hopkin... Got to #7 on the Adult Contemporary as the Pop-Rock that it is.
