@keinsz Ahh! Es muy interesante :D. I think the song with lyrics makes the dance much more charming and gives it a personality. I've always wondered why most of Filipino dances are just instrumentals, compared to lets say Japanese or Chinese dances, They're not, the lyrics have just been forgotten.

I think during the Spanish era up until the American invasion, a lot of our Spanish influenced dances would have had Spanish lyrics.

They probably ommit it, especially when Spanish was abolished. It's only recent they try to revive it again, abolishing Spanish was completely unneccesary.
