@mumswording That isn't what I meant. I meant that the majority of Greek Orthodox Christians in Palestine, Israel, and Jordan are Arabic speaking people. The Patriarchs and bishops of the Jerusalem GO church are usually from Greece, and often don't speak Arabic or Hebrew.
@AgiosGiorgios@AgiosGiorgios I think you might be misunderstanding. This Patriarchate is only for the Greek Orthodox Christians. Every Orthodox denomination has their own appointed pope.
Why is it that the Patriarchate of Jerusalem usually appoint Greeks to become bishops instead of Israeli/Palestinians? Shouldn't men who speak the same language as the congregation be appointed or is there somehow a shortage of non-Greek priests?
