@Redbullskull Cuba remains a poor socialist state because of the never ending US embargos. The moment the embargo's would seize, Cuba would start doing better. We dont know how well they would end up doing without the embargos.

@76681 Some cuban people (mainly exiles) think that if they had capitalism it would erase all problems. What they dont know is that capitalism would do just the same it has done in every country, make the wealthy richer and the not-so-wealthy poorer. The reason why americans are bitching about the totalitarism of Cuba is because it's so near them. What about China, Laos, Vietnam and just about every african nation? Out of sight, out of mind.
