Because it's pure drama, it's based on real life, what happens in a person's life, the emotions, the growing up, love, lust, greed and introspection. It's by far the best series on television because it shows how much life has changed since the 60's and kind of shows the whole thrill of living in that period, the whole attitude and how much we're missing in life due to technology taking over every trivial thing. If you think it's boring then you've missed out on many things.
