The song's message isn't specifically that "war doesn't solve anything".
More precisely, the lyrics try to convey that the toll war takes on us is often in vain, as we -- human beings -- will always have something to fight over, whether it's something new or something we've fought over before.
Slavery and fascism, while not abundant, are still present in the world. Holocaust is a by-product of xenophobia, which still rages as fiercely as it ever has. The only thing war abolishes is life.

If you truly believe that genocide, slavery and fascism are gone, I envy your naivety.

I'm not often impressed with covers songs, but this really is beautiful! The way you sing makes it sound even more meaningful than it already it. GREAT JOB! regards from belgium

Wow great cover. My voice gets wobbly singing this but I'll post a cover if I can hold it together lol. It was written by Eric Bogle.

I'm sorry I don't know this song or who DropKick Murphys is, but I think you did a really good job on it. Lovely, it's very peaceful sounding despite what's being sung about, war. Ameril said it best. Great singing, Kitana. :)
Fantastic
