An die Nachtigall, Op. 98, No. 1
(To the Nightingale)
A song to the nightingale by Franz Schubert. This is a live performance of the song in an Easter Concert at the Franziskushof by Amadea (Mezzo-Soprano), accompanied by a guitarist.
**NOTE:The guitarist and cellist in these particular Live Performances at the Franziskushof were using Baroque tuning, since they are mostly playing "only" Early Music in their own repertoire. Therefore, the tuning for this individual concert is much lower than the modern piano of A440 (that is to say, what I am used to singing in my operatic repertoire). April 2007.
"... He lay and slept over my heart,
my good guardian angel sang him to sleep,
and I can be merry and playful,
every flower and leaf can make me happy.
Nightingale, ah!
Nightingale, ah!
sing to me
wake not my lover!"
Bravo!!
