En Passant Rule for Chess

There was a time when the Queen could only move one square at a time. Like En Passant some rules were changed to make the game more dynamic.

Any prominent games where this move was used?
-
omg can you make this even more slower :D but nice vid

@Erzahler Continuing my reply to SecretMemorial... the move is not limited to once per game. En passant may be performed as long as there are eligible pawns on the 4th or 5th ranks.
-
@SecretMemorial It only works if your pawn is already on d4 and white advances a pawn either to c4 or e4. On the very next move, you have the option to take white's pawn by moving into the square immediately behind the white pawn ( i.e., d4 to c3 or d4 to e3). This captures the pawn the same way as if white advanced its pawn only one square instead of two. But you must make this capture on your very next move or you forfeit the option for that pawn.

@Doppoganger No it can't.

A lot of idiots seem to think this move is cheating.

Awesome man! Thx! Makes a lot of sense now! Good history info I never understood before.

En Passant makes the most sense when one knows why the rule exists.

en passant only works when a pawn is on the 5th square. or does it still work on the 6th square.
showed this to my dad who has been playing chess for years, all he said was "dont like it" hahah thought that was funny i agree
