How come a dust devil never picks up a bunch of cherry blossoms? Are the cherry blossoms not in season when dust devils occur?

@gusbest1 tornadoes are different than a dust devil whirlwind for the sheer fact tornadoes are produced from supercell storm clouds. Another reason is that tornadoes DECEND when forming where dust devils ASCEND.

@gusbest1 you can't see tornadoes or dustdevils, just the pollutants they pick up. when a tornado starts to decend you see it because clouds have their own pollutant gases that you see swirling down for it, that's why if you see a tornado running over a highway the bottom half of it disappears until it goes back to some dust or water or something that gives it it's visual shape. IF you see red dirt, you have a red tornado in otherwords. Purple water, purple tornado!... wait...

I guess your right unless it was using a very small thunder cloud or cloud butt some dustdevils are long and tornados are usely gray but thats probably what the suck up.

It's a pretty much clear blues sky over the dust devil, no cloud base for it to connect to, therefore it cannot be a tornado.

And yes, dust devils are usually very weak. One strong enough to do light damage are rare but not unheard of.
